Why Sarah Palin's Mat Maid Scandal Matters

Looks like there is some more dirt on Sarah Palin and how she likes to run the shop out there in Alaska.

It would appear that she bankrupted a state run enterprise and sold it off to her cronies...This would make sense if this was say, the news from Chicago in the 1960's or 1970's Daley era, but this is from 2007 in Alaska. Now I do understand that the current manner in which municipal governments are run, making shady deals with contractors, state legislators, the whole gamut. The pressure the Chamber of Commerce types put on the Noble Executive, but this story here really makes me laugh because in some fashion it really sounds like some old school provincial America type cow rustling story...
From the article: "We, and John McCain, have learned a lot in the last few days about Sarah Palin. We now know about her strange political affiliations, her complicated personal life, but, most importantly, we have seen how she has treated people, managed resources, and wielded power while holding public office. It is abundantly clear that, even within the small scale and limited scope of her experience, Sarah Palin has been an abject failure as a chief executive."

man and to think that Kwame Kilpatrick might be a better public official

Okay so its a story about how the Gov. mangled the operations of a public dairy consortium, its what we like to call, "an indication."

This is much more than an indication. I first thought it was at best that. Now, I am convinced that this woman is a wolf in sheeps clothing. She schemes earmark funding, she takes money for projects that she has no intention funding and keeps the money anyway. She set this company up or her cronies, fired the entire board and paid off her cronies. She had inside information from fellow senators, long before she met McCain face to face. She is a real con-artist.

If she does get elected, she might have to face controversy. I expect that she could face charges or allegations, contributing to continued embarassment and attempts to cover up by a new administration. They would work to keep her in, but would possibly be pushed to resign. It woudl be much like Spiro Theodore Agnew and his hinderance to Richard Nixon as the chosen Vice President, which was an appeasement to the far-right of the party and the war-hawks of the Vietnam War. Palin represents a similar interest.

Somehow Mat Maid articles are not being linked and the story is not going mainstream. This is a very interesting story, that I have been following closely. See "Gov. Palin fails in sale of state owned Matanuska Maid milk plant, prior to V.P. nomination" and so on.

I agree completely, the point of this is that she manipulated the flow of funds to bankrupt a state operation and then essentially sold it off to people with the connects from her locality. Basic classic corruption. Hopefully this will hit a bit more heavily after the glow from the RNC fades, so I give it till over the weekend...

Besides all those above skeletons, she has the Alaska National Guard run by unethical Generals who run the Guard by cronyism and rewarding "kiss ups." If you are a real leader than you are a threat to them and they won't promote you or reward you in any way whether you have been a hero in Afghanistan or Iraq. There should be an investigation but we know Sarah Palin is one of them.
